As I have snowballed corners in recent quilts, I’ve ended up with quite a lot of little triangles waiting to be sewn into half square triangles. I’ve got so many now, I had to start putting them in a second basket.
And after I have made several new half square triangles, I combine those with some of the ones that were given to me to make the little four patch units that make up these tiny blocks. I just love them. This will be so very scrappy except for the sashing strips and squares. The quilt layouts I’ve seen online show the blocks butted up against each other, but that would cause some seam issues for me (the seams would be pressed in the same direction making them super bulky). I think I’m going to put in additional lighter sashing strips and squares between the blocks. Perhaps something like this mockup.
Ohhhh….lovely!
