Before piecing the blocks, that is. I finally have all of the smaller units cut and sewn, and now those units are all ready to make into the final pieces that make up the unequal nine-patch that makes these blocks. Getting to this point has been a lot slower-going than I thought it would be. Probably a combination of the time it takes to do them and not having a lot of time to focus solely on making them, since I have to really concentrate not to flip things around and stitch them (or cut them!) the wrong way. Also, I’ve realized through this that I really don’t like pinked jelly roll strips (or really pinked any size fabric). Lesson learned.
Saturday I got together with my other Sit and Sew quilting group, and we all wore the t-shirts that Alecia has made for us. After the day of sewing, we went to the Celebration of Life for our friend Judy, who passed away last week. She was such a sweet person, and she will be missed by all.
