Charity knitting

I’ve continued knitting charity caps for my church’s Wednesday night class, and these are two that I’ve knit as chemo caps most recently. I wanted to document them here for my own reference and in case anyone else is interested in knitting them. Both patterns that I used were free at the time of this post.

I used Caron Simply Soft yarn for both hats. The white hat was knit using the Lace-Edged Women’s Hat pattern. I knit the second size (90 stitches) and used the called-for needles (US6, 16″ circular), which used approximately 50 grams of yarn. I think I should be able to get two more hats out of the large skein I have.

This blue hat I knit using the Miki Hat pattern (80 stitches). I used the same needle for this hat as for the white hat. It is similar to the Waffle Hat, but has a few more stitches. This hat used approximately 55 grams of yarn. I also knit a February Hat (without the pom) with this skein of yarn, but I forgot to weigh before I turned it in. I may have just enough of this skein left to knit a lace-edged women’s hat with it. I think I’ll try to do that next.
