I was running out of leader/ender “kits” that I use between blocks when I can’t use the units within the blocks themselves. So I pulled out my “Scraps of All Sizes” box. And I spent most of the afternoon Sunday working on pressing and cutting those into the standard size strips and squares that I use.
I continued working on those yesterday afternoon, and I still have a box that is over half full. When people say they don’t really make a dent in their scraps when making a quilt out of scraps, I can totally see what they mean.
I decided to go ahead and start cutting a few 1-inch squares from the tiniest pieces, because I would also love to make an Omigosh! quilt. Yes, I know. It’s really even more insane than the Grandpa’s Star quilt that I’ve made a block for (with half square triangles that finish at 1 inch in the quilt). That one will take a while, but it looks like another perfect leader/ender project.
I’ll get back to working on the Peaks and Valleys blocks soon. They require a lot more concentration than some of the other blocks I make, so I don’t want to lose all of the notes in my head on what I need to do.
Omigosh!!
