I managed to get the last bit of sewing finished last night before bed. My narrow border strips are on, and I think it frames the rest of the quilt so nicely and calms it down just a tiny bit. The color is the perfect deep maroon, left over from making my apron.
Of course, the colors are just slightly different from real life due to taking the photos at night with artificial light, but I think the essence is visible. The whites are more white, less cream, in person.
Anyway, she goes to the quilter today – and I’ll pick up Straits of Mackinac! I’ll be putting that on the bed this Spring/Summer, so I’m looking forward to binding it (by machine!).
