These are just the little “9-patch” units that go into making my alternate blocks for the Easy Breezy quilt. I’ve made a few, but I have a lot more to make. Some will be actual 9-patches and some will have one long strip of fabric in the middle making the little plus sign. It just depends on what scraps I have available at the time. But I plan to try to keep them all the same lighter/neutral fabrics in that plus configuration.
And then I sewed one of the little units into an alternate block and put it side-by-side with the main block on my design wall to make sure it would work (and that I pressed it correctly to nestle seams together).
It’s going to be a busy little quilt, but I think it’s going to work. When I have some more alternate blocks sewn, I should be able to get a better idea of how it’s going to look when it’s put together.
And though this was an “official” leader-ender project, I’ve been making everything I’m sewing leader-ender projects. It’s just a lot of fun that way, and I can do a little bit on several works in progress at once.
