I’m still working on the alternate blocks for Rhododendron Trail, but at a slower pace than when I was working on each of the clues for the mystery. I have about 15 more blocks to make before I can attach the sashing to them and start putting everything together.
Meanwhile, I’m making blocks for some of my other quilt projects that haven’t had much attention until recently, including this one for Aunt Beulah’s Arrowheads. I was chatting with my mom the other day, and we were talking about how Aunt Beulah used scraps for the original quilt, and likely some of those were from clothing and other sewing projects. And it just seems like another nod to her that I could do the same in my quilt. So before I finish re-folding and put away the leftover scraps from the skirts I made, I’m making some blocks out of them. I just adore this button fabric. Using it first was a no-brainer.
And once again, I pulled out a coordinating fabric from my “scraps of all sizes” storage box. That box is pretty full, so I need to use up some of them and cut some into strips and squares.
