Friday morning, before Mom and I went over to the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo, I managed to finish another set of these arcs. Just three sets to go now before the next step!
Oh, and those three sets – well, I started counting out my paper pieces into sets for the remaining three – and I realized that I only had 20 left, not 24 as I had anticipated. I went back and looked at the pattern, and this is correct – my kit is for the 80-inch square quilt, which has 84 sets total (and I’ve been working on 11 sets of strips, starting with 8 arcs each). So this was actually a great place to stop and count, because I’d rather have 7, 7, and 6 than 8, 8, and 4 of the remaining strips/colors.
Oh, and at the Expo, I only picked up one thing. I really like the purple/yellow Martelli cutting mats, and they were one of the vendors. They were having their black Friday sale on mats early – so I picked up the smallest (12″ x 18″) one for taking along when I go to Sit-n-Sews or retreats. I’ve been thinking about that for a while, so it was a good non-impulse purchase.
