I posted this photo to my Instagram account with the confession that I’ve never really enjoyed backstitching, especially lettering. It serves a purpose, or several purposes, because you can really define elements of a design using it, and of course, you can use it to stitch words in a design like The Lord’s Prayer.
But even though I’ve never enjoyed it previously, I’m finding that it is actually quite exciting to watch the words come to life in this design. I’m not minding it at all, and I actually look forward to seeing how many words I can finish. I like how the designer formed each of the letters. And the prayer in them is one I learned as a child. I am really looking forward to watching this design develop and then having it hanging on my wall as a daily reminder.
