What should just be logical but I didn’t realize or start implementing until recently:
If I have some pieces already cut and ready to sew, I can still make progress on piecing a quilt even if I only have a few minutes here or there.
I still have those triangles in a square to finish piecing, but I didn’t want to spend my time over the weekend piecing them and then have nothing ready to go for those little bits of time during the week when I might be able to just piece a couple (or 10) at a time.
So I started cutting the next step, which is a boat load of half square triangles. If you look at the model quilt, you can pick them out. Of course, this is not the unit which has the largest number of pieces – that one will be next – but it comes close!
