Slow progress

There are some times when you just seem to be making slow progress on things, and the time seems to fly by so quickly. May has been one of those months. I looked up and it was May 28. I have no idea where the time went, but I feel like I haven’t really accomplished much this month. Oh well, some times are just like that.

The WIPGO numbers were announced yesterday, and I just looked at them, kind of halfheartedly. It seems I really ran out of steam there, with interests pointing to other projects at the moment. The good news is that even though I pretty much completely bailed on the projects that came up for May, there are a couple that I might be able to work on in June.

I have worked a little on my granny square blanket, and should have a new picture to show soon. If I counted correctly, it’s 13×13 squares now, and I’m about ready to start another row. I’ll need to weave in some more ends so I don’t get too far behind on that again.

I’ve also been working some more on my Seraphina crochet doily. It is definitely a more challenging project, and it takes me several times to read through the current round’s instructions and work through them once or twice before I feel confident I’ve understood them correctly (I think). One thing I’ve learned is that I may be a very tight crocheter. Some of the spaces that you have to get into (that aren’t just the regular top of the stitch) can be difficult to distinguish and get into. But I am enjoying the challenge and learning a lot of new things along the way.

I’m hoping to have a chance to do a little sewing this weekend. I finished the little project bag I had started for my new cross stitch project, so I was able to put all those supplies back away for now and give myself a little more breathing room. Again, photo to come…

Happy Memorial Day weekend (coming up)!
