I won the lottery block swap at my quilt group a couple of years ago. For the longest time, I had no idea how I wanted to put them together, so I set them aside.
As I was going through some stuff this weekend, I pulled the blocks out, pressed them off and put them up on the design wall (in no particular order). The more I thought about it, the more I thought that this could be a nice quilt for a baby girl. I ordered a few fabrics, and I plan to sash and border these blocks together, probably next month.
The sashing squares fabric is one with pink ribbons (breast cancer awareness). I fussy cut around those, so I could have mostly just the hearts, swirls, and text like love and hope.
The sashing strips fabric is a very sweet tiny floral print on a cream background. Since the heart blocks are a variety of shades of cream (even to an almost tan color), I am hoping this will bring everything together.
The outer border fabric is a combination of pinks and reds. Again I’m hoping to use it to bring the blocks together since there are pink hearts and red hearts, along with other colors.
