I had brunch with my friend Sallie Friday morning, and took a couple of projects to work on while we chatted. I wanted to try out the crochet hooks I recently acquired, but alas, I didn’t get a size F/3.75 in the set I bought. I also didn’t get a size B/2.25, C/2.75, or D/3.25 in my set. Fun fact: when you order the set of Clover Amour crochet hooks from Amazon, and the seller is in England, you get different sizes than you do when you buy from a seller in the United States! The sizes that came are 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 6mm. So, I ordered the missing sizes individually and am waiting for them to arrive. Bonus is that I should pretty much have all the sizes I’d ever need except for the largest ones, which I rarely use.
Then I went to start a new crochet doily, which was going fine until the second round. It wanted me to start the round with a chainless starting double crochet. Having never done one of those before, I decided to set that project aside for when I have time to watch a video and practice. It.
Good thing I brought my Dream a Little Dream project with me! I worked on the scrollwork embellishments using perle cotton (pulled out some lovely Valdani dark variegated), and was able to finish one half of the design. This section is nearly finished, just the other side to stem stitch.
