I started cutting out fabric for this quilt a couple of years ago, and that’s as far as I got. Since then, it has languished, all but forgotten, so I’m glad I put it on my WIPGO board, and that it was the first to be chosen. Now it will finally get some attention.

So, the first thing to do was to choose some more fabrics. Alas, I didn’t have much Acacia left over (and Tula Pink’s Acacia line came out when I was not buying half-yards or full-yard bundles of her lines), so I thought I’d just pull from a variety of her other lines since then.

I decided to go with purple/magenta, green/turquoise, and orange/pink.
Cutting took me forever, because, well, I decided I had to fussy cut several of the larger prints, and they are all on point. But I managed to finish cutting most of the pieces, except for all of the background squares that I’ll need, last Sunday. Then, because I wanted to check the construction and make sure I understood it all, I made one block (there will be two of each fabric, some that are made as half-blocks for the offset rows).

Now it’s a proper WIP!
