You know it’s bad when you misread the first sentence of the second page of instructions, and you don’t realize it until you’ve already knit through that page and started page three.
Well, that’s exactly what I did. Here I was thinking that this sweater construction is really, really unique. And it is unique compared to others I’ve knit before – don’t get me wrong. It’s just not as unique as I had made it out to be.
And so, I had to rip out an restart the entire back of the sweater. I was wondering when I would get to join the back and front at the shoulder seams. And after I joined the body in the round and the shoulder seams still weren’t together, I started looking through the pattern to see when that would happen (and how). Imagine my surprise and consternation when I realized what I’d [not] done correctly.
So… I ripped out all the way back to that point, put stitches back on the needles, then re-started the back. It isn’t very far, and it will take me several days to get back to where I’d already knit, but at least it makes much more sense now.
It’s going to be beautiful!
